Today is one of those days when you feel like your body is falling apart, along with your mind. And all you have for company is tea and blankets.
Milan Kundera’s The Unbearable Lightness of Being is one of my favourite books that affected me tons when I read it three years ago. Let’s see what the movie will do to me.
The verdict? Annoyingly slow build-up of the characters, along with protracted scenes that many times would be better off if they were simply cut in half. Barely any reference to the depth and philosophy of the book accompanied by shallow dialogues acted by skilled and beautiful actors. If you watch this on fast-forward, it’s beautiful and erotic. Otherwise it’s just a waste of 3 hours of your life. Read the book instead.
