There’s something about driving at night, and some songs feel like they were made for exactly this. Good night, Malmö.
For those of you who are wondering, here’s the sound by Kreidler. It was originally released on 12″ Vinyl in 2000, and then featured on the fantastic Eve Future album two years later, changing the title of the song from Circles to Circulus.
There are more goodies to come from this fantastic wedding that I attended in Mozambique on the day before my departure from the country.
This beautiful experience left me with a nostalgia and love for the people, the athmosphere and the dancing that I can’t let go of. The families in the wedding were amazing people and I felt increibly honoured to be there and attend as a part of it all. I cannot imagine a better wedding than one where everybody dances, smiles and gives their best to create a positive and happy vibe.
Sp here, I give you the world’s coolest bride, and a lot of dancing. Enjoy.
I am currently missing Mozambique and this collective dance that one would get to dance at weddings, birthdays and sometimes even in nightclubs. It’s called the family dance, you can dance it to all kinds of music, and here are two ways to do it.
Both videos are from Celio’s and Mena’s wedding in December, on the day before I left the country.
Downloaded one of my favourite animated movies and just watched it together with Ava. An American Tail by Don Bluth and Steven Spielberg from 1986 is about the mouse family “Mousekewitz” who emigrates from Russia to the United States. While on the boat, the little boy-mouse Fievel gets lost and while his family thinks he has drowned, he must find a way to reunite with his family again.
I cried a little, it’s such a great movie – and now Ava finally knows my “Never say never” song that has been omnipresent in my head for all these years. :)
Here´s us watching my favourite scene when the two siblings are in different parts of New York, believing that they will reunite, singing the same song. It’s in Swedish, as I know it.
And here´s the “Never say Never” song, from the original version:
Here’s a song I’ve been in love with sine I first heard it on the radio here in Maputo. Please note the wonders that kick in at 1:46 – we dance to this beauty whenever we get the chance to.
So yes, the video drips of traditionally pink and fluffy “perfect wedding” dreams. The slow motion effect and the theme take away a lot of beat and edge from the song as I knew it before, but it’s a sweet and well made video that might be an interesting insight for those of you who are far from this enchanting continent. I guess we can conclude that dream weddings look pretty much the same over here – horses and all that stuff included.
I am most probably in a car right now, crossing yet another country border. But fear not – I have thought of you and prepared a little video quiz to keep you all entertained while I´m offline.
Here’s a youtube compilation, containing 13 different songs and 12 different countries – guess as many of the countries as possible and you shall be granted the status of eternal awesomeness.
Here´s a video from 2010. It’s me and my Israeli friend Roi on a motorbike in India, following our two Italian friends and singing the Polish children´s song “Pieski Male Dwa” – about two puppies crossing a river. I think India is one of those places that I always will look forward to visiting again.
