Bonding, boundin’ & reboundin’

Pixar & Walt Disney – Boundin’ (2003)

The best thing about moving around and travelling so often? I get to meet and bond with amazing and inspiring people that I never would have crossed paths with otherwise. And even though it hurts every time I have to leave to continue my life in other places – we do our best to stay in touch, stay updated and continue giving each other the kind of support that friends are made for. Copenhagen gave me a beautiful group of jackalope sisters, all from different parts of the world, all distinctively awesome and all now equally missed. One of them just sent us this lovely, lovely short film.

Now in this world of ups and downs – it’s good to know that there are jackalopes around, so just bound, bound, bound & rebound!

Leaving

Leaving another country, another city, another office, another apartment and another group of amazing people. Great and inspiring friends that I am already missing. I am a bit melancholic right now but I will post a nice summary with photos soon. Thank you for everything darlings, I will see you around!

Meditations in an Emergency

Now I am quietly waiting for the catastrophe of my personality
to seem beautiful again, and interesting, and modern.

The country is grey and brown and white in trees,
snows and skies of laughter always diminishing,
less funny not just darker, not just grey.

It may be the coldest day of the year,
what does he think of that?

I mean, what do I?
And if I do, perhaps I am myself again.

Meditations in an Emergency (1957)

We have spent evenings and nights watching the Mad Men series and commenting out loud on little details in everything from cinematography to clothing and the very authentic sets. We are at the second season now and going strong, the last couple of days we have left. Good times indeed, and they will be missed.

Introducing: The Hobbit house

Let me introduce my home here in Copenhagen. I call it the hobbit house because of the low ceilings. It’s cosy and beautiful and it takes me about four minutes to get to work, I couldn’t have wished for a better place during these six months. Anyway, here’s a video tour, with a glimpse of my bike in the end.

I live in a historic row house district called Nyboder. It was planned and first built by the Danish king Christian IV to accommodate the personnel of the Royal Danish Navy and their families. The construction of the houses started in 1631 and their yellow colour is often referred to as “Nyboder yellow”. When people ask me where I live, I just say “the yellow houses” and the question I then always get is whether I’m part of the Royal Danish Defence. I’m not, but my housemate is which is why I can live in this great place anyway.. and why we have cartridge boxes and other random army things at home.

I will only live here for a couple of days more, then I’m off to warmer places. I’m actually happy the snow came now, it’s pretty.
