Casio & iPod

The preparations before a big trip are so much fun, I love my lists of what I need to pack, buy and do before leaving.. and this part, the putting new and awesome unexplored music in my ipod – is one of my absolute favourite ones! I’m really looking forward to the flight and all the sound-candy I will get to enjoy.

I have been wearing my travel-watch for four days now.. my friends know what it means and it’s usually a sort of a mental indicator for me that I am leaving soon, however, this time it still feels quite distant.. let me tell you one thing – it’s not! :)

Anyways, here’s some new awesomeness for you, music!

Grum – The really long one
Heartbeats (2010)

Ageispolis

Aphex Twin – Ageispolis
Selected Ambient Works 85-92 (1992)

To appreciate this tune you might need in-ear headphones with a nice frequency response, if you use mediocre laptop speakers the most important details may be lost. I like it, it’s one of those old classics that isolates you from everything and take you on a mind-trip. Enjoy.

Sweetest Sade

Listening to Sade makes me think of red wine and dimmed lights, the blend of the smoothness of her voice and the instruments puts me in a state somewhere between tranquility and bliss.

And as if her voice wasn’t wonderful enough, her old videos are perfect. What a charisma! It’s the 80’s at their best.

Sade – Hang on to your Love
Diamond Life (1985)

Sade – Sweetest Taboo
Promise (1986)

Sade – Turn my back on you
Stronger than pride (1988)

Hey girl, hey boy.

Superstar DJ’s… heere we go!

The Chemical Brothers – Hey Boy Hey Girl
Surrender (1999)

I really liked this video when it came out, I still do, it’s a classic. The tune is nice as well and I’m still sometimes singing the line randomly.. somebody saying “hey girl” is usually enough to get me started.

Funny thing how some things just really gets stuck in your head..
Kind of like when somebody says “oh, snap!” seriously.. who doesn’t feel the urge to go “I’ve got the power!!” ?

Any other examples?

Breakfeast with Detektivbyrån

Have I shown you any Detektivbyrån tunes before? It’s a swedish band that I really like listening to when I’m alone and on my way somewhere, their happy tones spark interesting thoughts and take my mind to unexpected places. Like some kind of infantile circus-music with a touch of positive and energetic thought-tripping. Or I guess it can be whatever you choose to make from it. haha

Detektivbyrån – Nattöppet
E18 (2008)
