Merry Bokeh Christmas :)
Christmas is here and I am playing around with our christmas tree and all the beautiful bokeh the little lights all around make. There’s too much snow to move anywhere outside the house, seriously. Luckily I have a very long and entertaining to-do list which I can handle from home.
As a little christmas gift for my photography nerds here’s a DIY-bokeh tutorial that I found last year – it kept me entertained for a while :)
Merry Christmas to you all, and goodnight :)
Cristo, my Bhaia
This is a very nice boy I met in Varanasi, India in October 2010. His name is Rahul Pandit but everybody knows him by his Italian name, Cristo. We met when I was walking around Varansi alone and he ended up showing me around the city for three days. We became very good friends and he said that I am his sister and he is my brother, my bhaia. I received an email from Cristo recently and the 22nd of December was apparently his birthday so I thought I would give him a little surprise and write about him on my blog to give people the possibility to find him if they are going to visit Varanasi.
Cristo took me to secret little temples and places I never would have found alone which was really nice, he also told me that if I heard of people going to Varansi I could give them his contact details and he would be glad to show them around. Cristo works as a guide on his own so he knows Varanasi very well, he speaks English and Italian and besides that he is a very good student and a very kind and caring person.
If you are going to Varanasi and you would like to get in touch with Cristo, you may send him an email at rahulpandit072(at)gmail.com or just simply give him a call at his mobile, 9161561336. Say hi from Caroline from Sweden & Poland that was his sister in October and he will hopefully remember me :)
Happy birthday Cristo! :)

Thank you!
Yesterday was wonderfully fun.
Despite the insane weather conditions, almost 200 people made their way through the snow to visit my photo exhibition. The donations were very generous and 51 photos were ordered. Together we have made a little gesture to help Unicef in continuing their work to ensure every kid in the world clean water, education, healthcare and protection!

Also, I am thankful for having such wonderful friends and family that were listening to all my nagging about this project for two and a half months and helping me out with random things – such as putting the photos up or simply showing support by being there! Tack! <3
It has been a fun project to plan and go through with, the money has not yet been added to the account and there are still ways to donate to my account “Tillsammans för Kidsen!” by either sending an sms to 72 900 with KÄMPA KIDS or buying things through the webpage. For those who were at the exhibition and would like to order something afterwards, you can use the contact form to send me an email and I will get in touch with you.
More information about the project and more photos can be found here. :)
Again, thank you!
All set. Now sleep. :)

Varanasi, India. 2010
This man was following one of the frequent processions through Varanasi where dead bodies are being carried to the place where they are burned to be thrown into the Ganges. I had my camera out and stood by myself watching the people passing by. The man stopped in front of my lens and gave me this look, then nodded a “thank you” when I took the picture, gave me a quick smile, and walked on. They appreciate having their picture taken in India.
